Marking swimmers arms before the meet

To help your swimmer stay organized during a meet, we suggest writing their event details directly on their forearm or hand using a dark permanent marker like a Sharpie® (body paint is NOT allowed). This makes it easy for them to keep track of their events, heats, and lanes throughout the day.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Refer to the heat sheet for your swimmer’s events (found in your app, click on today’s meet)
  2. Use a marker to draw a simple table with the headers:
    E = Event, H = Heat, L = Lane
  3. Fill in the corresponding numbers for each event, along with the stroke and distance.
  4. For relays, you can note which leg your swimmer is swimming (e.g., “100 Free Relay – #2”).
  5. Write the info on your swimmer’s arm before applying sunscreen and allow it to dry completely.

Example:
If your swimmer is in Event 6 (50 Freestyle), Heat 4, Lane 4, the entry would look like:
E: 6 | H: 4 | L: 4 | 50 Free

This simple method helps swimmers feel confident and stay on track during busy meet days!
